Senses workshop
This afternoon we used our senses to compare different objects, textures, sounds and smells. To test our hearing, we listened to a range of sounds and had to guess what the sound was. We then played a memory game where we used our eyes to remember key pictures and had to identify 3 objects at close range. To test our touch, we used feely boxes where we had to put our hand in the boxes and describe what we could feel without looking. There was a teddy, cold noodles, playdough and a shell. We also tested our sense of smell. In the pots were mint, ginger, coffee beans and vinegar. Finally, we used our mouth to taste different foods. We had to think of a word to describe each one. The foods tasted were crisp, chocolate, pear and lemon. Each child wrote their guesses on their own ‘five senses sheet’.
