This afternoon, we looked at the different types of rocks there are, and how they are formed. We learnt there are Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic rocks. We identify the names of rocks and which classification of rocks they belong to.
The children were then sent a challenge to complete! They had to identify new “rock samples” by observing the rocks, and used the rock properties chart to be able to find out the new rock samples. If they were able to complete the mission, they could destroy the new rock samples by eating them!
This afternoon, the children had to guess what each fabric was from a zoomed-in photo. The children then worked in pairs/groups to use the magnifying app on an iPad to zoom in to see if they were correct.
We used bone dog biscuits to make a skeleton to form part of our ‘what we already know about’ skeletons.
